Prayers Answered?

icon_prayer2.jpgFormer Georgia Representative Bob Barr was nominated today as the Libertarian Party’s presidential candidate. I doubt he’ll put Georgia in play for the Democrats, but it’s always nice to dream. Of course, I could be completely underestimating Georgia’s disenchantment with the GOP.

If nothing else, it might help sweeten the data we have to live with for the next four years. It will be good to retire those Kerry numbers, or at least move them to the background.

The libertarian always seems to poll high. Those people tend to drift back into the Republican orbit as the election nears.

Maybe in Georgia it will be different, Barr is from here and the headquarters will be here. Perhaps Obama’s people can be convinced that Georgia is worth some attention because of it. Is Obama 45, McCain 43 really possible?

*I recognize Obama is not, in fact, the nominee.

Barr pulling 8%? That seems a bit high to me, but.. hey, if the polls say that, good!
