Big News!

Bratz%20kid.jpgPalin will talk.

Remarkable power play by the McCain campaign. First we learn that Governor Palin won’t be “doing any media” for several weeks. Everyone is shocked, yes shocked! Now that she’s agreed to do an interview with ABC’s Charlie Gibson she appears to be so agreeable and willing. Masterful.

I’m really hoping that Charlie Gibson’s interview fails to satisfy the media. If Democrats are consistently harassed to debase themselves on a propaganda station like Fox News, then Palin should be required to at least deal with the mainstream media, low standard which that is.

I hate to tell McCain’s camp, but respect isn’t automatic just because you want a job. You *earn* respect in this world. McCain has arguably done it. Palin … well, I have a feeling that the mayor of Macon could probably take her down in a debate.

He probably has more responsibilities, too.

On MSNBC this morning, Chuck Todd brilliantly pointed out that this election will come down to “working women.” Does he not realize that working women comprise about 45% of the entire population and a majority of the electorate in some places? Does he think we’re some small swing minority?

Hey Chuck, most women work! And we vote too!

Apparently, this turn-around is a result of Charlie Gibson’s agreeing to give “deference” to Sarah Palin, as the McCain camp has demanded. The interview will consist of softball questions, carefully avoiding tarnishing Palin’s celebrity status with anything politically-relevant. (http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/214508.php)
