Congrats, Jim!

Jim Powell, candidate for Public Service Commission, has received the endorsement of President Jimmy Carter.

“I am impressed with Jim Powell’s knowledge of the issues that will be addressed by the Georgia Public Service Commission in the coming years,”President Carter said. “His vision of energy policy for our state reflects the forward-thinking approach we need, both in the near future and in the long term.

“With Jim Powell, the people of Georgia have a unique opportunity to elect a Public Service Commissioner with solid professional experience for this important position. I support Jim Powell in the December 2 runoff election.”

Mr Powell adds this important endorsement to a long list of others, including incumbent Public Service Commissioner Angela Speir, Libertarian Party nominee Brandon Givens, former Republican candidate Pam Davidson, and four of the state’s major daily newspapers: the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Savannah Morning News. the Rome News-Tribune and the Waycross Journal-Herald.

It’s OK. The JC-wing stuff wipes right off with one of those moist towelettes.

Wow! This makes Jim Powell almost god-like in my mind.

Also, if we have to leave behind the Jimmy Carter wing of the party, do we also have to stop believing in energy conservation, always working towards a meaningful/lasting peace and striving to help our fellow man? Thanks, but no thanks. I’ll just stay here in the comfy confines of the JC wing.

    Oh and hi everyone!

Elder statesman are just that, statesman and any time a candidate can stand next to these folks or in this case impress him…I find it hard to bash.

Good for you Jim Powell. I’m sure it was a thrill.

“I think this election has shown us that the middle is the best ground.”

That’s true, the problem is I don’t think you know where the middle is.

Honestly, maybe its time we moved beyond the Jimmy Carter wing of the party. I think this election has shown us that the middle is the best ground. And with all due respect to President Carter, that isn’t his area
