This week’s, erm, honor(?), goes to…..all the candidates inviting me to events that not only aren’t in their district, but are WAY OUTSIDE.
For whatever reason this has been a bipartisan phenomenon this year.
The people you need to reach to win your election, are in a specifically contained area. The district. You reach them not by traveling all over the state to hobnob with your buddies, but by spending time at events IN THE DISTRICT, knocking on doors, making phone calls etc. Not by wasting time elsewhere talking to folks who can’t vote for you. I mean if you aren’t serious about winning then fine, go anywhere you want. But if you want to win, spend your time with the voters. Time is the only thing you can’t get more of in your campaign and all you’re doing is squandering it.
Oh yeah, and if you invite me to one of these events I’m not going.
Honorable mention this week goes to NASA. Don’t these dudes know the world is ending in 2012?
