“Blacks Are Being Blocked From Southern Juries Recent Study Shows”
June 7, 2010
“The United States criminal justice system guarantees a jury of one’s peers. But a new study of eight southern states found that widespread racial discrimination persists in jury selection, particularly in criminal trials. Bryan Stevenson, executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative, says prosecutors often cite reasons other than race, but the statistics tell another story. And Alabama resident Brenda Green says she has been booted from several juries because she is black.”

Never heard him sing though. He was in self imposed exile from his country when he died.

Precisely my point.

Rawls is toast.

Clearly a question for Rawls.
But here’s yet another question & saga of Ed & Higher Ed:

Not since the Great Depression have we’ve seen incomes dropping for even College grads. And it’s been stalled or falling for much of the last 8 years prior too, across the board for all categories & almost universally for all job classifications. JMP

OK, they tied. That’s good news for us!
England has to play Slovenia, and we get Algeria next. Our game is theoretically a little easier I think.
Beware, I have vuvuzela app on my phone. -
80th minute and England/Algeria is still tied. That sounds you hear is the loud gnashing of poorly maintained teeth.
-
No. it would go to lots because U.S. and England would be tied for second with the same goal differential. Or maybe it would go to total goals which would mean U.S. in….maybe….I’m going to consult the FIFA rule book.
-
Wait. No lots because U.S would lose on points. Forget that scenario.
-
Depends on whether England can beat Algeria. They are in the 65th minute with no score.
If England ends up with a draw against Algeria, then for the U.S. it is win and in. If England ends up in a draw with Algeria, then draws against Slovenia AND the U.S. draws against Algeria, it will go to drawing lots. I kid you not.
But lets assume England wins against Algeria 1-0. Here are the scenarios.
U.S must beat Algeria or it is eliminated.
U.S Wins/England Wins = U.S. in
U.S. Wins/ Slovenia Wins = U.S. in
U.S. Wins / Slovenia and England Draw = U.S. must best Algeria by at least 2 goals to get in.
I think I’ve covered everything.
-
Among the best applications of that phrase. Ever.

No love for my funny picture?

BS call on the US goal that was waived off.
-
US and Slovenia tie, 2-2.
I think we need England to lose against Slovenia when they play.
