Hi. I’m Martin. I used to work over at the state party, and now I work with candidates. I also blog about stuff, over at Beyond the Trestle, at change.org, and now here. So, I reckon I’m about as much of a blogger as anyone else. And I need you guys to do me a solid.
Please don’t care about who I’m voting for this July.
Here’s why. If you’re reading this, then chances are, you know as much – or more – about politics as I do. So you don’t need me to tell you who to vote for.
I’m a blogger and a “political consultant,” whatever that really means. I’m not Andrew Young, I’m not MoveOn, I’m not the AFL-CIO. I haven’t held an elective office since I made executive committee for my fraternity in college.
So, don’t care about who I’m voting for. In exchange, I’ll make you a promise in return. I’m not going to tell you who I’m voting for.
You see, it’s not my job to tell you who to vote for, and that’s exactly what an endorsement is. I’m here to give commentary, to pat campaigns on the back when they do a good job, and to mock them when they do stupid stuff. Most importantly to me, I’m here to (hopefully) give you some useful information to help you make up your own mind in the voting booth.
And thanks in advance for putting up with me while I try to do that.
