“The initiation of the preliminary review by the OCE to determine whether political contributions may have influenced my vote in favor of a smaller, more responsible, government is without any merit whatsoever,”
– Rep. Ned Flanders
As a follow up to Jen’s post, the folks at the Public Campaign Action Fund send along a look into Rep. Price’s campaign contribution patterns:
Before, and in the weeks following the vote, Rep. Price received $29,000 in campaign contributions from political action committees (PACs) with a direct stake in the financial regulation debate (Table 1). On December 10th, just one day before Rep. Price voted against financial reform legislation, he held a “Financial Services” luncheon, according to Sunlight Foundation’s PoliticalPartyTime.org.
Obviously nothing to see here. Please move along.
