Please sign this petition to help us ban the practice of shackling incarcerated women during transport, labor, delivery and recovery in Georgia jails and prisons. Read more about it here.
Weekend Events:
Each November 20th, we gather for the annual international vigil that calls attention to the suicides and murders of transgender people during the past year. In Atlanta, activists will gather at the State Capitol for a candlelight vigil being organized by he Juxtaposed Center for Transformation and its executive director, Tracee McDaniel. Many groups come together to mark this occasion. This year we will remember 30 people.
This weekend, in Columbus GA, thousands will gather at the annual Close the SOA protest and vigil. SOA Watch is a nonviolent grassroots movement that works to stand in solidarity with the people of Latin America, to close the SOA/WHINSEC and to change oppressive U.S. foreign policy that institutions like the SOA represent. The full schedule is here.
