   Federal Judge John Roll was killed in this same morning attack in AZ:

   Again, John Roll, a federal judge for the United States District Court for the District of Arizona is now confirmed dead by this attack.

   Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) has been likely mortally wounded by a gunman at an ‘open house’ event in her district early this morning, local time, about noonish EST. Early reports said she had died outright, now, this is not certain. She remains in surgery currently. About half a dozen other people, including at least 3 staffers were also shot & seriously, if not fatally wounded. Updates @ Huffington Post & elsewhere (TPM, CBC).
