I don’t recall an August so full of events that didn’t include a election run off!
Tonight, our friends at Red Clay Democrats have this event for your pleasure:
Come join us and fellowship with other like minded Red Clays at Manuel’s Tavern on North Highland on Tuesday August 2, 2011. The Happy Hour will start at 7 PM. Our speakers will take the stage at 7:30.
This round, we will focus on the upcoming Reapportionment Process and Special Session and will honored by special guests Sen. Jason Carter, a RCD founder, and House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams. Rep. Abrams and Sen. Carter will relay their perspective on the Reapportionment process and how it will impact our shared efforts. Reapportionment will, after all, determine the shape of the political map from the Governor’s Mansion on down to the county and city level for the next 10 years. You won’t want to miss a minute of their brief program while we all gather together.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) we are road tripping to Macon for the WIN Event, announced below.
Thursday is President Obama’s 50th Birthday. The re-election campaign is organizing several events in the metro to honor his milestone birthday. Events listed here.
Friday…oh there will be Happy Hour, details later this week.
Last but certainly not least, to further celebrate the Presidents Birthday, 35 additional events will be held all around the state this Saturday. The county parties have been working for weeks to plan these events, and I’m sure they would love to see your happy faces in attendance. I’ll be at the New DPG offices getting my cookout on.
