Redistricting Update

The Georgia House of Representatives voted 107-65 to approve the Republican drawn redistricting maps.  Every member of the Democratic Caucus voted no and were joined by 2 Republicans.

The Georgia Senate voted 35-18 to approve the Republican drawn redistricting maps.  Every Democrat vote was a no vote.

The guys over at PeachPundit are speaking of a rumor regarding the drawing of Hall County’s house districts and the Governor’s displeasure.

The Senate will consider the House maps next week, and the House will consider the Senate maps.  They are also suspected to reveal the Republican drawn Congressional map next week as well.

You can join the Democratic Party of Georgia next Monday at the Hope and Unity Rally.

Oh, by the way, the Democratic Party of Georgia remains the only major political party in Georgia that does not require its candidates to sign a loyalty oath…  and on behalf of myself, kudos to Leader Abrams and Leader Henson for their strong stands regarding these Republican drawn redistricting maps.

Sheet, what happened here? Not that damned ‘lonely country road’ deal again too! Never-mind, Thanks Trevor et al for the all the updates. It’s as expected, only worse. It’ll be in the courts for awhile. Thanks for everyone’s good efforts here. Hope to make the rally. JMP
