centuries. This website presents the fruits of one such project, crafted by
the Digital Library of Georgia with funds administered by the Institute of
Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The archive provides access to papers
from southern Georgia from the years 1845-1922, and it includes the Albany
News, the Americus Times Recorder, and the Valdosta Times. Visitors can
search the newspapers by year, title, city, or keyword”.

Supreme Court Blocks Judges’ Redistricting Plan in Texas Case
The Supreme Court on Friday instructed a lower court in Texas to take a fresh look at election maps it had drawn in place of a competing set of maps from the Texas Legislature. The justices said the lower court had not paid enough deference to the Legislature’s choices and had improperly substituted its own values for those of elected officials.
